Gina hates her Valentine's Day birthday and travels to Greece to prevent her boyfriend's proposal. With help from vacationers Johnny and his sister Mickey, she schemes to delay it - while questioning her relationship.
I was given the opportunity to design a Valentine’s Day romantic comedy filmed in Malta, written to take place in Greece and exterior California. Having grown up in Malta, I understood the challenge of adapting the island’s distinct yellow limestone buildings to match the audience’s expectations of Greece’s white and blue palette. I leaned into existing classical architectural elements wherever possible and used Mediterranean motifs in the set dressing to bridge the visual language of both locations.
